Dr. Haber was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1948. He attended public
schools, graduating from S.J. Tilden High School in 1965. He attended
Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, graduating in 1970
with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
He attended Columbia University,
School of Dental and Oral Surgery from 1970 to 1974, graduating with a
Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and winning the Oral Pathology Award.
Dr. Haber received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the
Westchester County Medical Center/New York Medical College from 1974 to
1977, being chief resident of the Service from 1976 to 1977.
After becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Haber elected to take a
one year residency in Anesthesiology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New
York City, graduating in 1978. He has been in private practice since
1978; specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr.
Haber received his status as a Fellow of the American Association of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon by examination in 1981. He became a
Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology by examination
in 1979. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery in 1990 and a Diplomate of the National Dental
Board of Anesthesiology in 2002.
Dr. Haber has been a
volunteer attending surgeon in the Department of Dentistry of the
Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx,
New York, since 1987. He has been an attending surgeon at Holy Name
Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, since 1985 and Palisades Medical Center in
North Bergen, New Jersey, since 1982. He is licensed in New York and
New Jersey, with General Anesthesia Permits in both states. He has been
certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support since 1980. He is a member
of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Operating Room
Committee and the Medical Education Committee at Holy Name Hospital. He
is Co-Chairman of the Investigative Committee on Clinical Research and
Chairman of the Division of Dentistry at Holy Name Hospital, as well.
